Hole 12, Par 5

The par-five twelfth at Fossil Trace has been voted one of the 18 most fun golf holes in America by Golf Digest. Favor the left side of the landing area to avoid the fairway bunker. Right of the cart path is a lateral hazard. The safe layup is mid-iron to the right of the sandstone pillar. This will leave a short-iron into the green. Reaching the green in two is a very risky proposition. The green features a narrow undulating surface guarded by a long greenside bunker. Leftover mining equipment sits atop the sandstone wall left of the 12th green, which features trace fossils of triceratops footprints. The twelfth at Fossil trace is a hole not soon forgotten.
